Best Exchange Bureau in Agadir: Talborjt, Souss or Hotel? (2026)

Agadir is a quintessential beach resort city. Most tourists stay in beachfront hotels (Founty, Tourist sector) and exchange their money at the first counter they find. It's a mistake that can be costly: gaps between the hotel zone and downtown regularly reach 6 to 10%.

🏖️ Hotel Zone & Marina: Comfortable but Costly

Exchange bureaus in 4 and 5-star hotels or at the Agadir Marina display poor rates. They rely on convenience. Without direct competition, they apply margins of 7 to 12% compared to the Bank Al-Maghrib rate.

Our advice: Use these counters only for very small amounts (taxi, tips). For everything else, head downtown.

🏢 Talborjt (Downtown): The Rate Champion

The Talborjt neighbourhood is Agadir's commercial heart. Avenue Hassan II and surrounding streets have about ten exchange bureaus engaged in fierce price competition.

🛫 Al Massira Airport: The Bare Minimum

Like all airports worldwide, Al Massira Airport offers unfavourable rates. Exchange only enough for your taxi (50 to 100 MAD) and wait until you're downtown for the rest.

🛒 Souk El Had: The Local Option

Souk El Had (one of Morocco's largest markets) has a few exchange bureaus at the main entrances. Rates are decent and you can go straight to shopping for souvenirs, spices or argan oil.
